Phishing Alert

Phishing is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. Communications purporting to be from PayPal, eBay, YouTube or online banks are commonly used to lure the unsuspecting.

Phishing scams play on your psychology by inducing a sense of urgency in the message displayed and harm is done when you click on it. In this way, a virus may be transferred on your computer.

Never provide your logon, password, account number or other personal information such as your social security number or date of birth to anyone through an online or telephone request that comes as a warning to you. Remember, these requests are coming from people preying on your fear of uncertainty or personal security.
