New Security Features

The first week of January Bank of the Rio Grande will be implementing new security features to our online banking product. Some will be familiar: you will be asked to answer three security questions. We will also be utilizing a new feature that will detect uncharacteristic or unusual behavior involving your account. If we detect any unusual or uncharacteristic activity, we will ask you to answer your security questions to make sure that it’s really you! This will most likely be a rare occurrence.

We will also introduce the personal watermark. You will be asked to choose a personal image from several choices. When you sign on to the online banking system, your personal watermark will appear . This image will verify that you have logged into the legitimate Bank of the Rio Grande Netteller site, and not a false phished site.

Commercial Cash Management Users

In addition to the above security features, you will be issued a token that must be used each time you log on. The token features a set of numbers that changes regularly. This token is synched with our main server and will verify that the person logging on has the correct credentials. Bank of the Rio Grande is committed to providing the safest online banking experience possible, and we are implementing these new features for just that purpose.
